As the clocks go back this weekend and the winter nights start to draw in, Crabtree & Crabtree launches its Stargazing Season.

Partnering with Astro Ventures, Crabtree & Crabtree offers Really Wild Stargazing Tours and late-night STAR-B-Qs (starry BBQs) with your very own expert astronomer and has over 90 holiday homes in and around Northumberland International Dark Sky Park. Starry skies await those looking for an autumn escape to this, the least populated county in England.

With a staggering 85% of the UK population having never experienced a truly dark sky, Crabtree & Crabtree invites you to experience the dazzling spectacle that is Northumberland’s International Dark Sky Park: 572 sq. miles of English countryside and the largest swathe of protected night sky in Europe. With upwards of 2,000 stars shining on any given night, Northumberland’s pristine skies have been awarded Gold Tier status by the International Dark Sky Association: a stellar seal of approval from the world authority on light pollution. Dark Sky Park highlights include: the wonderful Kielder Observatory, Battlesteads Observatory and the Sill National Landscape Centre.

Not only is autumn the perfect season to stargaze – with the nights becoming truly dark allowing stars to really glint and gleam – but this is also a great time of year to get outdoors, enjoy the fresh air and take in the beautiful autumnal colours: the perfect time to refresh and reboot. So wrap up warm, pack the binoculars and a thermos of hot chocolate and prepare to be dazzled…
